Personal / Executive Assistant to Michael Green in Victoria, BC.

We are looking for a highly organized professional assistant to work alongside the Founder and Co-Principal of MGA, Michael Green.

This administrative position will work out of, and support our new office in Victoria, BC.

Michael is an award-winning architect, speaker, and author who leads the studio alongside Co-Principal Natalie Telewiak.

In addition to his leadership in the Vancouver and Victoria studios, he travels internationally on lecture engagements, conferences, and site visits, as well as regular adventures in ice climbing and mountaineering.

He currently serves as a government policy advisor on mass timber design, and is known for his 2012 TED talk - Why We Should Build Wooden Skyscrapers.

This professional administrative position will work from the new Victoria office, which serves several daily staff, visiting teams from Vancouver, and clients, as well as playing host to local events.


This professional EA/PA role executes a multitude of varied tasks and requires a self-directed, independent individual with excellent communication, organization, and time management skills who is both personable and professional.


SOME OF WHAT YOU'LL GET UP TO:

  • Manage and maintain complex schedules, including booking appointments and travel arrangements
  • Handle and update correspondence, communication, and contacts with confidentiality and clarity
  • Manage daily operations of the Victoria office
  • Research and assist with lecture and presentation materials
  • Provide general administration support and budget monthly expenses
  • Liaise with other departments within the studio as needed (Administration, Communications, Business Development, Marketing, Finance)
  • Run daily errands such as dry cleaning, mailing packages, coordinating deliveries, pet care, etc.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE VALUE:


  • Minimum of 4+ years of Executive and/or Personal Assistant administrative experience
  • Confident, patient, and friendly demeanour
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Suites
  • Must be adaptable and willing to pitch in on a range of needs and projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Exercise good judgement, show initiative, and maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workflow
  • Ability to travel internationally for workrelated lectures and meetings (valid passport)
  • Have a valid driver's license ability to drive both manual transmission and automatic preferred
  • An interest in design and sustainability (but this is not a design role)
  • Pet friendly (the role helps manage and cuddle both a puppy and a cat)
