EXPERIENCED CLIMBING ARBORIST AND CREW LEAD:

A climbing arborist is a tree specialist who makes efficient challenging decisions to accurately prune, remove, plant, trim and assess trees within a landscape.


As a climbing arborist you will be assessing trees and making decisions, driving your team to build on their skill base and creating a positive and professional working environment.

Your compensation will be a discussion point during the interview process. We believe in paying people what they are worth guided by their goals and aspirations. We have different pay strategies as well as the normal by hourly pay.

Individual will have extensive experience (3-5 years) as a climbing arborist. They will be able to complete complex pruning and removals efficiently while demonstrating excellent skills in all domains. The individual will be able to supervise and instruct production crews in all phases of professional tree care work.


DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Proficient and safe climbing techniques.
  • Local arboriculture knowledge.
  • Aerial lift truck operations
  • Tree removal
  • Pruning trees and shrubs
  • Hedge Trimming
  • Tree planting and fertilizing
  • Tree assessment
  • Limb and buck trees on the ground
  • Operate a chipper and other specialized equipment, i.e. stump grinder, skid steer, chainsaws, pole saws/pruners, bucket truck
  • Mitigate hazards and safely work on hazardous trees
  • Choose and load the necessary daily equipment
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment and vehicles
  • Drive vehicles, lift/chipper trucks, or trailers
  • Inspect/maintenance equipment when applicable
  • Able to practice maintenance on all arborist equipment
  • Inspect worksite and identify hazards
  • Positively interact with customers
  • Proven ability to be an effective and motivating Team Leader

OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Class 5 Drivers License or higher is required
  • Airbrakes Endorsement and driving manual transmission is an asset

Salary:
$27.00-$45.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime

  • Chilliwack, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
