Responsibilities:


  • Administer the full cycle of the payroll process, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time each week.
  • Manage all general ledger activities related to payroll, ensuring that all entries are accurate and uptodate.
  • Administer employee benefits, pension plans, and RRSPs, ensuring that all are correctly applied within the payroll system.
  • Conduct reconciliations of payroll accounts, pension plans, and RRSPs to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Independently manage and prioritize tasks to meet payroll deadlines and objectives, as this role does not operate within a team of payroll specialists.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, pension plans, and RRSPs in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax laws, and regulations in Ontario.
  • Proficient in payroll software and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
