Job Description Mission**CIMA+ is growing and expanding its Earth and Environmental services across Ontario. As part of the overall growth is a focus on natural environmental services in the Greater Toronto Area and the Golden Horseshoe. The Natural Environment Team is looking for a Project Lead to support projects from conception to execution. The lead will be supported by the existing team of biologist, environmental professionals, and field technicians. The focus of the work is the delivery of various types of projects' natural heritage reports for a variety of sectors (waterpower, transportation, land development etc.) for both public and private clients.

  • You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, working from home and in one of our Ontario offices in and around the GTA _(London, Kitchener, Burlington, Mississauga, Bowmanville)_._

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with the team and clients to scope assignments, and write proposals
  • Lead the natural heritage scope on projects, with a focus on those in the GTA.
  • Participate in the drafting of impact evaluation reports, ecological studies, and environmental specifications, as well as other technical reports
  • Analyse alternatives, and assess and rank their potential to impact natural heritage features
  • Develop site appropriate avoidance and mitigation measures.
  • Draft requests for authorizations and permits under the _Fisheries _Act, _Endangered Species _Act, or _Species at Risk _Act, for both small and largescale projects in various types of environments.
  • Develop monitoring programs (i.e., pre
- and post
- construction monitoring programs to assess effectiveness of mitigation measures or offsets etc.)

  • Participate in project management through budget and timeline monitoring
  • Work with clients to find practical solutions that minimizes impacts to the natural environment.
  • Grow and manage a team of environmental professionals

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Sciences with strong Ecology focus
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with a focus on the natural environment
  • Experience must demonstrate how they allowed you to develop expertise in study design, data collection, natural environment assessments, mitigation, and /or monitoring
  • Strong understanding of relevant municipal, provincial and federal legislations and policies
  • Previous management experience, in projects and in personnel
