Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation and arts amenities.

We are seeking employees with a passion for public service who share our commitment to creating a complete, inclusive and livable community.

Our dedicated staff deliver services, operate facilities and run the programs that enhance the well-being of our community.

The Community Services Department is hiring Summer Camp Leaders for various camps aimed at preschool, school-aged children and youth. Staff may be hired to work at a variety of camps throughout the summer.

  • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR-C certification (these certifications must be obtained before the start date).
The following certifications or qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Class 4 Driver's License;
  • Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard;


  • OFA Level

  • Coaching certification (i.e. NCCP);
  • High Five;
  • Play It Fair;
  • SuperHost;
  • Babysitter training and/or;
  • Past experience with West Vancouver Summer Camps as a volunteer.

Position Status:
Casual, Non-Union


Hours of Work:
Hours and days of work vary depending upon position; up to 40 hours per week.


Rate of Pay:
$20.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits. This position has a pay structure that increasess based on education and experience.


Closing Date:
11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2023.
