Supervisor of Aquatics and Recreation Programs:


Overview:


We are seeking a Supervisor of Aquatics and Recreation Programs who will play a key role in the leadership and growth of the City's recreational programming.

Reporting to the Director of Parks and Recreation, this position is responsible for the daily operation of all aquatic facilities within the City of Woodstock.

Success in this position will be achieved through high quality, progressive aquatic programming, involvement in the delivery of current and future aquatic building projects and by staff development as a central pillar to ensure a safe aquatic environment.


Responsibilities:


Specifically, this position is responsible for:

  • Providing overall leadership of aquatics team, including recruitment, scheduling, training, and coaching to enable a high performing team.
  • Developing innovative aquatic and recreational programming to meet the needs of a growing and diverse population.
  • Designing and implementing preventative facility maintenance plans to comply with legislative standards, meet the public's expectations and protect City assets.
  • Overseeing enhancements to aquatic facilities including upgrades to existing facilities or the construction of new facilities to ensure
  • Leading the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the City's recreation software, including offering training and support to internal users.
  • Collaborating with key staff across the Parks and Recreation Department and across the corporation.
Managing the division's operational and capital budgets.


Qualifications:

To be considered, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Recreation or equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field.
  • Knowledge of and certification in National Lifeguard, Airway Management, Swim/Lifesaving Instructor Trainer, First Aid Instructor Trainer, Aquatic Safety Inspector, Lifesaving National Trainer.
  • Experience managing fulltime and parttime staff teams.
  • Knowledge of computer and recreation software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Perfect Mind, report printing and facility booking.
  • Experience conducting research, writing reports, managing projects, policy writing and developing and managing capital and operating budgets.
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Driver's License in good standing.
  • Experience with social media platforms and communication and marketing strategies, including webpage design/editing an asset.

Compensation - $82, 921 - $97, 554. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
