Banquet Server you will:

-
Be a BEO Expert - understanding your BEO so you can set up and break down each event safely and efficiently. In your role you may also be assisting with the setup and break down of the buffet or other food service stations/equipment.

Be a Friendly Face - arriving at work on time to get the banquet and your side work station set up and ready to go, keeping all clean and attractive throughout the function. As the event ends you may be asked to assist with cleaning duties - floors, tables, buffet stations, etc.

Be a Host as well as a Server - pouring water, keeping the guests place settings/tables crisp, upselling wines, making helpful suggestions, answering questions, remembering names, offering a friendly smile - it is all part of the job.

Be a Food Professional - understanding the food and beverage you are serving so you know what you are speaking about (especially when it comes to ingredients/allergies); offer prompt, excellent service to create a wonderful experience for the guest; handle cash/credit accurately and timely as needed.

Be a Safety & Security Agent - following your hotel's established safety and security policies & procedures. Anticipate problems and ask for management assistant as needed. ServSafe certificate/alcohol training is required for banquet serving staff.


Requirements:


The main function of this position is to serve food and beverages to guests at banquet functions according to established company standards.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule.
  • Long hours sometimes required.
  • Knowledge of banquet protocol and various services helpful.
  • Must be available for a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:


  • Prepare room according to Banquet Event Order (coffee break, lunch, buffet, etc).
  • Set tables.
  • Maintain buffets.
  • Serve guest following rules of etiquette and property standards.
  • Serve wine.
  • Brew and serve coffee and tea.
  • Clear tables of dirty dishes.
  • Deliver dirty dishes to kitchen.
  • Knowledge of hotel and city facilities.
  • To attend all training sessions and meetings.
  • Liaison with supervisor regarding all special requests and/or complaints.
  • Maintain work ethics and be accountable.
  • Deliver dirty linen to laundry.
  • Clean banquet room following completion of function.
  • Store props and equipment to assigned areas.
  • Other duties as required.
