Role Summary


The Instructional Design Specialist in the Integrated Learning and Knowledge Innovation Division epitomizes our dedication to holistic education and empowerment.

Responsible for overseeing curriculum design and development, this role is integral to our commitment to integrated learning, innovation, and knowledge management.


Reporting to the Director of Integrated Learning and Knowledge Innovation, the Specialist actively contributes to national and divisional initiatives, providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for diverse projects.

This involves crafting training plans, implementing and evaluating programs, and orchestrating concurrent training events throughout the year.

The Specialist champions inclusivity and forward-thinking in developing in-house training programs, identifying priorities for course design, content, and delivery.

This includes identifying priorities for course design, development, content, and delivery in collaboration with internal and external clients, thus contributing to our overarching goal of sustained growth.

Through mentorship in Instructional Design principles and best practices, they empower others to thrive in our dynamic learning environment. Overseeing LMS administrative duties, the Specialist ensures a seamless workflow that aligns technology with our commitment to innovation.


Acting as a liaison between teams, departments, projects, and stakeholders, the coordinator embodies our philosophy by fostering collaboration and understanding.

Your typical week at Maximus

  • Organize, assign, and schedule curriculum design tasks for the division, providing regular communications to the Director and division regarding priorities, obligations, deadlines, and any barriers to operational success.
  • Conducts comprehensive training needs analysis, identifies and documents core training needs and priorities for corporate projects, and assists with project estimates using instructional design models.
  • Coordinates training services for operational units to ensure employees and our clients receive justintime training that will enable optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, stakeholders, and clients to identify training and performance support requirements, and identify training/educational resources that will enhance the delivery of existing programs and services within the organization. Ensure employees are trained in all aspects of Maximus operations and systems.
  • Develop and coordinate inhouse training programs, including training plans, materials, and manuals. Identify priorities for course design, development, content, and delivery, working jointly with internal and external clients for endtoend training deployment.
