Scale Operator to join our local team based in Victoria, BC.
What you will get to do:
Health & Safety Administration
- Administer site orientations for incoming truck operators, contractors, and visitors to ensure all necessary policies and procedures are communicated and understood
- Administer site visitor register to ensure an accurate register of nonemployee personnel on site is always available
- Ensure housekeeping of scale building is consistent with a worldclass operation
- Generate accurate bills of lading for loaded vehicles in accordance with established policies, enter purchase order, address, vehicle, customer, and other required information accurately
- Process credit or debit card payments and complete all associated reporting
- Communicate product descriptions, availability, and onsite locations, as needed
- Communicate with operations personnel, including mobile equipment operators, maintenance tradespersons, supervisors, and managers, as necessary
- Communicate with sales and distribution personnel, as necessary
- Assist in tracking of onsite inventory, utilizing all necessary computer systems
- Complete inbound and outbound shipping and receiving processes
- Support technical services department by completing quality control or quality assurance functions
Who we are looking for:
- Applicable postsecondary diploma in business or office administration, operations management, computer or information technology, or a STEM program (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficient in the use of computerbased systems, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, computerassisted design, and enterprise resource planning systems
- Very organized and able to manage many ongoing tasks simultaneously
- Able to work extended hours and irregular schedules, as required
- Able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Able to lift and carry pails or boxes
- Experience in weighbridge, data, or office administration is an asset
- Experience in a distribution or logistics role is an asset
Work Environment:
Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
