About the Opportunity

Responsibilities:


Mergers & Acquisitions/Capital

  • Analyze client financial statements and relevant documentation
  • Build financial models and confidential information memorandums (CIMs)
  • Identify, analyze and rank potential buyers
  • Coordinate with clients during the due diligence process
  • Assist in managing deal flow

Valuations

  • Assist in the research and preparation of reports for business valuation of private companies
  • Prepare requests for documents and communicate with clients including correspondence preparation and followup
  • Analyze financial statements and documents
  • Prepare financial analysis and models

Administrative/Marketing

  • Prepare management presentations, marketing pitches, and other presentations as required
  • Conduct industry and economic research
  • Track client, prospect and engagement information in Navatar/Salesforce

Business Development

  • Work collaboratively with team members, and develop/maintain relationships with others, both inside and outside the firm
  • Attend various meetings with the WCP team, as well as meetings with clients when required

Qualifications:


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in field related to the position
  • Pursuing a professional designation (CPA, CBV, CFA, MBA, JD)
  • Experience in one of the following areas would be an asset: investment or commercial banking, private equity, venture capital, consulting, legal, or accounting focus (can include internship or coop positions)
  • Some experience with financial modeling, including analysis of financial statements and preparation of integrated 3statement financial models without supervision

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Good technical/working knowledge in the following areas:
  • Accounting and tax principals
  • Valuation
  • Economics
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Financial modelling
  • Understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and work both collaboratively or independently in a demanding, fast paces and dynamic work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively conduct research
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Conscientiousness towards client needs and requirements
  • Ability to extract useful information from large sets of unorganized or incomplete data
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities to provide alternative solutions to complex issues

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues at all levels of a corporation
  • Ability to write easy to understand reports
  • Demonstrated potential to develop a network of industry contacts (such as bankers, attorneys, etc.)
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients or other parties
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize, effectively manage multiple assignments in a fastpaced, challenging work environment
