Detailed Overview:

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

Leads the strategic planning, implementation, evaluation and sustainment of Spiritual Health services, ensuring alignment with Fraser Health's priorities, Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC) standards, and Ministry of Health directives.

Accountable for the outcomes of these services, ensures collaboration with Fraser Health partners, site leadership, physicians, and within a framework that embraces all faiths, cultures or beliefs and that support individual cultural, spiritual, religious and community-based spiritual relationships.

Leads and manages assigned staff that support Spiritual Health and manages assigned budget.


Responsibilities:


  • Leads the strategic planning, implementation, evaluation and sustainment of key initiatives related to Fraser Health's Spiritual Health services and ensures consistency with priorities, practice and directives established by the Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC), Fraser Health, and the Ministry of Health.
  • Provides leadership by reviewing, developing, establishing and evaluating standards, policies, protocols and processes that are evidence and practice informed and in support of the design and delivery of Spiritual Health services and initiatives.
  • Develops and executes communication, education and engagement plans for key initiatives in collaboration with partners.
  • Supports the organization in meeting Accreditation Canada's Required Organizational Practices and the accreditation requirements of the CASC specific to the Fraser Health Spiritual Health Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
  • Evaluates and monitors the success and outcomes of services; applies standardized and consistent approaches to evaluation (including both process and outcome measurement), and ensures adherence and alignment to relevant regulatory, provincial, and national requirements as they pertain to Spiritual Health.
  • Leads and supports the infrastructure and network of Fraser Health Spiritual Health Advisory Council and the Spiritual Health Visitor Program.
  • Monitors practice trends through Fraser Health data (e.g. patient experience data) in partnership with stakeholders to identify opportunities for practice improvement and the provision of safe, quality Spiritual Heath services.
  • Leads and conducts quality improvement activities by reviewing and developing effective policies, procedures, and standards that ensure the quality of Spiritual Health practice; identifies service needs, promotes quality improvement activities and evaluates results.
  • Provides reports, updates and communications to the Director, Patient Experience, site leadership, clinical teams, and Ministry of Health as required.
  • Manages and provides overall leadership to assigned employees including hiring, orientation, coordinating team activities, performance evaluation, coaching, mentoring, training, approving leaves, performance management and dismissal.
  • Prepares and manages assigned budget to reflect the ongoing needs of the portfolio and within departmental guidelines and Fraser Health standards.
  • Represents the portfolio on regional, provincial and external committees and projects and fosters effective linkages with other organizations.
