Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Prepare food service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing stock and sauces.)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen team.
  • Report and follow the order of Executive and/or Sous chef's instruction.
  • Make sure the station is always clean.
  • Make sure to document all the food waste on the waste sheet.
  • Make sure to document fridge/freezer temperature log.
  • Help Sous chef doing inventory.
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in timely fashion.
  • Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.

Skills/Requirements

  • Proven cooking experience including experience as a line/prep cook.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures in the kitchen.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Must possess basic knife skill.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Salary:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
