The Opportunity
A senior leadership position and pivotal role within the organization that is mandated to formulate the overall strategies, goals and policies and take ownership of the direction and results of Business Development, Corporate Development and Industry Relations

As a key member of Growth Services Executive Team the position will contribute to setting the overall strategic direction of Symcor and influencing and executing on the corporate goals and programs.

This role is truly hybrid and doesn't require any mandatory in office but we encourage the senior staff to be able to travel to the offices located in Mississauga and Toronto for specific purposes.


About the Role:


  • Identify and develop new market opportunities for topline revenue growth through business and corporate development and fostering/maintenance of industry relations.
  • Form longterm and strategic partnerships to enable topline revenue growth (sales growth, business expansion and the formation of strategic partnerships)
  • Develop initial framing for new business opportunities, support the negotiation of contracts with clients
  • Actively engage during the product and service growth and innovation lifecycle by identifying new opportunities for topline revenue growth and through development of customer relationships to ensure market success of new product concepts
  • Leverage M&A and/or strategic partnerships as a means to grow, from ideas developed through either business development or innovation framework
  • Collaborate with Product, Account and Marketing teams to successfully develop market opportunities for company's newer products, providing product expertise, customer counsel during sales and business development cycle
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities for topline revenue growth through business and corporate development and fostering/maintenance of industry relations.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with current and potential clients, industry leaders, government, and partners; building and maintaining a strong network of current and new customers
  • Foster longterm and strategic partnerships to enable topline revenue growth
  • Develop and maintain industry and government relations to influence and ensure success of product growth, acceptance and relevancy
  • Develop team and/or engage external support for successful lobbying for Symcor's interests with government bodies as required
  • Develop and establish and environment that will provide the conditions, methods, tools, and capabilities that will enable the division to fulfill its objectives and attain it goals.
  • Establish expected levels of efficiency and effectiveness and threshold that will identify the need for reevaluation and the criticality of such
  • Establish well defined responsibilities at all levels within the division in relation to developing and implementing all objective and goal delivery processes of the division
  • Work with function heads to review annual plans and establish the necessary spends and budgets.
  • In the context of Symcor's resources and realities, review and determine the need and capacity to adjust functional forecasts and budgets.
  • Establish profiles of the required skills and set the conditions that will help attract and retain the resources required to fulfill the division's mandate.
  • Establish objectives and measures related to the coaching, development and provision of opportunities to increase the capabilities of employees at all levels.
  • Drive a culture of high performance and collaboration within and across functions and with other Symcor divisions.

What You Need To Succeed:


Education:


  • Advanced development (postgraduate) in field(s) such as business.

Experience:


  • 10+ years of experience
  • Varied and deep knowledge of various fields of knowledge related to the direction, establishment of delivery protocols and measurement of the results of large and varied organizational units and/or of critical functional aspects of the organization as a whole.
  • Vast expertise in integrating varied elements/functions/specialties developed through years of directing and managing complex organizational units.
  • Established experience in identifying upcoming challenges and setting longterm goals.
  • Experience in holding positions involved in the overall functional direction at a Corporate level.
  • Expertise in directing issue resolution where the interaction of multiple resources may be required.
