Remote, but must be located in GTHA, ON
Job Status
9-week Summer Contract, 30 hours/weekThe HR Intern will support the operations of the HR department to ensure a smooth flow of HR functions within the organization.
The HR Intern will perform tasks to support recruitment, onboarding, training and development, health and safety, employee engagement and policy management.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment
- Schedule all qualified applicants for interviews
- Conduct assessments for all applicants prior to interview personality & conflict management style
Orientation and Onboarding
- Schedule orientation sessions
- Support the onboarding process to ensure the appropriate parties are managing all tasks
- Update employee database with new hire information and all other employmentrelated documentation
- Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees' records
Training & Development
- Support organizing training and development plans by sourcing, planning and scheduling training initiatives
- Track all internal and external training for employee records
- Health & Safety
- Lead all health and safety education & awareness materials and training
- Conduct health and safety inspections quarterly
- Document and report all workplace safety incidents
- Ensure compliance with provincial regulations
Employee Engagement
- Initiate, plan and organize teambuilding initiatives
- Plan and organize special events for staff including team summits and celebrations
- Policy Management
- Consult with all department leads to develop policy
- Review and update policies yearly
- Ensure all policies are within legal requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Experience in HR administration or coordination
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software
