    Position Summary

    We are seeking a PD&P EGS for the Mining & Metals (M&M) team, based in Chile reporting to the M&M Global PD&P Chief Engineer. The purpose of this role is to lead the PD&P discipline, supervising the conceptualization and design of both the plants (and related infrastructure) and the piping systems, in addition to the implementation of said design in the field, in coordination with the project managers, other engineering disciplines and multifunctional teams, complying with the defined standards, in order to offer efficient, profitable and sustainable engineering solutions and contribute to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the project.

    Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervision: Lead the development and conceptualization of plant designs and engineering of piping systems, including materials selection, sizing, and routing. Evaluate select, apply, and adapt techniques, procedures, tools, standards, and engineering criteria to promote excellence and innovation.
  • Planning and Management: Establish and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resources allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with process engineers to integrate piping systems with plants processes effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and optimize plant designs to enhance efficiency, safety, and operational performance continually.
  • Technical inspections: Participate in designs reviews and inspections to anticipate, identify, and rectify potential problems or deviations promptly. Ensure compliance with industry standards safety guidelines, and client specifications.
  • Safety: Implement and enforce best practices for safety protocols, risk assessment, and hazard identification within the team.
  • Industry Engagement: Actively participate and lead in external technical and professional societies. Contribute to technical code committees to stay abreast of industry advancements and best practices.
  • What We Need from you:

    We expect from the successful candidate for the PD&P EGS position to demonstrate the following knowledge and/or experience:

    Basic Qualifications:

    Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a technical college diploma combined with 15 years of relevant experience in plant design, layout and piping design with be considered in lieu of degree.

    Experience:

    Minimum of 15 years of experience in practical plant and piping design, engineering, and project management within M&M or similar plants with Particular focus on the conceptual layout of copper and gold facilities.

    Proven track records of effectively leading and guiding teams, emphasizing continuous implement, team building, and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and competing priorities.

    Specific Technical knowledge:

  • Proficiency in relevant engineering principles, codes, and standard associated with plant and piping system design, including extensive knowledge and application of ASME B31.3/B31.4 codes.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and guide team effectively.
