Job Description Mission**As innovation at CIMA+ is part of the overall vision, our growing teams are called upon to produce structural drawings of all kinds, in 2D and 3D, to carry out our projects for our Energy sector. We have set up several highly qualified teams in the design and detailing of structures of all kinds and need to grow these teams to meet the growing demand in our sector of activity. The Civil Structural Drafting Technician will be able to use their skills to concretize and draw the result of the work of their colleagues in specialized engineering, within one of our existing teams. This is a hybrid position based in Halifax, NS.

Our teams work on a wide variety of different projects, namely:

  • Hydroelectric works (dams, power stations, spillways, etc.)
  • Steel and concrete structures
  • High voltage lines and pylons
  • Various foundations
  • Buildings for substations and power stations
  • Steel support for electrical appliances
  • Roads and paths
  • Underground pipes

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform CAD drawings (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Advance Steel) for our energy division
  • Participate in performance and quality improvement committees
  • Develop skills in 3D design and modeling with various commercial programs (Solidworks, Revit, Civil 3D, Advance Steel, etc.)
  • Participate in project startup and followup meetings
  • Visit sites for measurement and photo campaigns

Qualifications

  • A minimum knowledge of AutoCAD software
  • Knowledge and mastery of 3D drawing software (an asset)
  • Good oral and written communication in English; French an asset)
  • Autonomy, sense of initiative and ability to work in a team
