    Director of Finance


    You thrive in a fast paced, complex financial not-for-profit organization.

    You are community minded with a passion for supporting social service sector, programs and services.


    You will be responsible for ensuring the coordination financial and operational support for our organization and assist on all strategic and tactical matters in this complex financing structure, as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting financial and asset management needs. In this role, you will assist the Executive Director and the Senior Management Team in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the Centre's mission and help carry out staff succession and growth plans. There is a heavy emphasis on financial reporting to meet the stringent requirements of contracts and on the finance function of program budgets. Your role will be to ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability with our diverse program offerings, multi-faceted funding sources, and supervise the administration and financial team.

    • A CPA designation, or an Accounting Diploma with a combination of experience in business administration and/or financial management.
    • Five to seven years of financial and proven management experience with the day-to-day financial operations of a community based not-for-profit organization.
    • Knowledge of not-for-profit accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Professional financial management competencies and property and asset management.
    • Proven experience in writing reports on activities, strategic work plans, goals and objectives.
    • A thorough appreciation, awareness, working experience and sensitivity of Indigenous history and culture, as well as a thorough understanding of the complexities of working with diverse populations.
    • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, provincial and national partners of the PGNFC.
    • Professional communication proficiencies including presentation skills, writing ability, computer proficiency, including the SAGE 300 software program, and authentic interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated teamwork, leadership skills and visionary ability to inspire and empower others.
    • In-depth knowledge of the social service sector, community-based programs and services, funding sources, community and board relations.
    • A thorough knowledge and understanding of asset management and program budget requirements for not-for-profit organizations.
    • Superior communication skills including presentation skills, writing ability, computer proficiency and authentic interpersonal skills.
    • Successfully complete Criminal Record Clearances and possess valid driver's license.
    • Annual salary $120,000 - $130,000 with a comprehensive benefits and pension package.
