    The Janitor maintains the cleanliness of the facility, property, and/or grounds in compliance with applicable standards.

  • TERMS : Regular, Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • DAYS & TIME: Saturday to Wednesday; 08:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • NUMBER OF VACANCIES : 1
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors, washrooms, windows, dusting, collects and disposes of garbage, vacuums
  • Checks, cleans, moves, arranges, and dusts furniture as required
  • Checks doors and windows to ensure building security
  • Reports safety concerns and repair issues (e.g. furniture and fixtures)
  • Restocks washroom supplies
  • Spot washes accessible walls, strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpet
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Education/Certifications:

  • The successful job applicant will have completed Public School.
  • WHIMIS Training
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Experience:

  • Up to three months of prior related experience, including previous cleaning experience and familiarity with cleaning supplies and procedures.
  • Other Conditions / Requirements:

  • Successful obtainment of clearance through The Salvation Army Child Abuse Registry
  • Successful obtainment of clearance through the Criminal Record Check under the Criminal Records Review Program
  • Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent.
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening.
  • A clean drivers abstract.
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
