Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview:
Under the general supervision of the Manager (or designate), the incumbent:
- Plans, co-ordinates and teaches the Medical Radiologic Training program in accordance with the Competency Profile of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Provides an effective training program for Radiology students and maintains a high standard of teaching.
- Functions as an independent selfdirected professional in the teaching of excellent patient care to students.
- Works within the framework of the CAMRT Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, and the Grace Hospital's vision, philosophy, policies, procedures, and structures.
- Provides expert consultation and guidance to Radiology staff through clinical leadership, mentoring, education and evaluation.
- Provides quality imaging services.
- Contributes to the delivery of quality imaging services by examining, developing, refining and evaluating the specialty body of knowledge and care practices.
- Identifies noncompliance of service standards to the manager.
- Serves as a resource in Radiology and provides educational programs to students and other healthcare professionals.
Experience:
- Minimum of four years recent clinical experience in Radiology.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):
- Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Radiology Technology.
- Proof of completion of ongoing educational courses pertaining to current trends in Radiology and teaching.
- Courses from the RRC Certificate in Adult Education or equivalent are recommended while in the position.
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
- Eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the applicable policy.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Position requires a high degree of technical expertise and a thorough knowledge of all specialized areas in Radiology in order to perform a wide range of Radiology procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.

- Sound knowledge and understanding of evidencebased practice.
- Ability to function creatively and with mínimal direction.
- Ability to function within a computerized environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be in good physical and mental health and be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
- Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
- Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities, following Safe Patient Handling guidelines.
- Must be able to lift and position clients, some of whom are in a state of unconsciousness.
- May be exposed to radiation (within acceptable limits).
- May be exposed to extreme client injuries.
- May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress.
- May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/visitors/staff.
