Position Overview


The Web Design and Content Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and curating CSI's digital products like CSI's website and mobile app.

This is accomplished through careful creation, analysis, and improvement of web content and the accompanying online products.


In carrying out the duties of this position, the incumbent provides supervision and direction to student staff and a great deal of autonomy is exercised with final overview by the Creative Productions Manager.

It is also important that the Web Design and Content Coordinator works extremely closely with all members of the marketing team to ensure they create a consistent representation of the CSI organization, and to ensure that the Creative Productions Manager is up to date on the basic overall web efforts.

In all activities, it is crucial that the Web Design and Content Coordinator recognizes that service to students is a top priority.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision of Staff

  • Troubleshoot any conflicts or concerns that arise with staff who report to them.
  • Work with staff members to ensure quality customer service to all students of Conestoga College.
  • Support jobspecific training for all new and current staff who report to them.
  • Support staff meetings in conjunction with other department supervisors when necessary.

Web and Mobile App Coordination**- Coordinates and develops the design of all web and mobile app and ownership of all required updates to ensure accuracy of the organization's services.

  • Report analytics for website, and app content.
  • Identify problems and suggest improvements for the app and website experiences through digital research and analysis.
  • Key contact for outsourced website and mobile app developers.
  • Data entry of membership information to maintain an accurate and uptodate digital community on CSI web products.
  • Coordination of the monitoring and respond to student comments or inquiries on the CSI website and mobile app.
  • Assist in ensuring the marketing and events goals & targets are met as outlined in the marketing strategic documents and plans
  • Collaborating with the Creative Productions Manager to execute targeted campaigns.
  • Ensure all communication distributed to students and college are compliant with AODA.
  • Ensure sold sponsorship space is accurately included in external media outreach.
  • Ensuring user feedback is collected and presented/reported on a regular basis.

Other General Duties

  • Work in accordance with corporate bylaws, policies, and procedures, particularly to the CSI Mission Statement.
  • Adhere strictly to health & safety laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality for business practices.
  • Work in an organized manner where detail, accuracy and confidentiality are critical.
  • Mandatory attendance at CSI related training days.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in assembling web pages using a prefabricated web builder
  • Experience with using design software such as Photoshop and InDesign
  • Experience using WordPress is an asset
  • Ability to design and understand design ideas and concepts
  • Familiarity with creating userfriendly and easytonavigate web pages
  • Ability to create webpages that are optimized for all devices

Working Conditions
Physical Demands

This position spends long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. Lifting of supplies and materials up to 30lbs is required from time to time.

Environmental Conditions


This position performs work primarily in a busy, open area office and is faced with frequent interruptions and meetings with others on a regular basis.

Travel between campuses and performance of work from home is required as needed. Some work may be required after office hours and on weekends.
