REPORTS TO:
Senior Manager Accounting
HOURS:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
JOB PURPOSE:
The Accounts Payable Accounting Assistant assists the Senior Accounting Manager and the accounting team by carrying out Accounts Payable responsibilities and general accounting functions.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete all accounts payable functions for the organization
- Preparing A/P cheques and Electronic Fund Transfers
- Reconciliations of all vendor statements and addressing all vendor inquiries
- Reconcile, match, and record all corporate credit cards and employee expenses
- Communicating and resolving issues related to expenses and invoices
- Ensuring maintenance of the filing system, documents, records systems and vendor and customer
- Ensure continuous confidentiality within role and ensure all vendor and customer care is handled in a professional and courteous manner
- Perform and support all daytoday accounting functions in conjunction with the accounting team as assigned
EDUCATION:
- Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTITUDES:
- Demonstrate Customer Service approach while working with others both internally and externally.
- Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Excellent personal skills.
- Works with initiative, commitment, and enthusiasm
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, ACCPAC A/R, A/P and G/L, Simply Accounting, expense software)
- Able to communicate effectively and have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates commitment to their work.
- Able to work effectively as a team as well as independently
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- A highly developed sense of humor
- Able to work in a stressful environment with tight deadlines
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years to four years' experience in an Accounts Payable position
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit at a computer to complete data entry for the majority of the time, be able to walk, stand and lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to work with noise and a little bit of dust.
LOCATION OF WORK:
Mobile/On-site
