Description

Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock, furniture assembly and maintenance, maintaining/cleaning furniture and rugs, picking and filling orders from stock, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

• Sort and place furniture items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
• Repair and maintain furniture and accessories in the warehouse
• Clean area rugs and furniture cushions when required (experience with a cleaning machine is an asset but not necessary, you will be trained on this)
• Receive merchandise arriving from suppliers with accuracy and double checking for any damages or defects
• Open new furniture arrivals from supplier deliveries, assemble/build furniture as required
• Prepare and package any supplier returns that are damaged/defective.
• Pulling furniture items and placing orders in delivery area
• Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock orders from print out, returned from pickups. May also assist in counting of physical inventory
• Stock the furniture showroom as requested by the Manager
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and delivery docks clear. Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times, including garbage removal with team members.
• Assisting on delivery truck, moving furniture into house or condo properties. Only as needed to cover shifts

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 12 yrs previous warehouse experience preferred
• Good command of the English language
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Be able to identify product by size, type, style, colour or product code.
• Solid reading skills must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked
• Dependable and reliable to arrive on time for shifts.

• Regularly lift and/or move objects 1050lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 80 lbs
• Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch
• Position may require climbing of ladders for toplevel selection
