What you'll do:_

  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect problems.
  • Read Maintenance/Repair Request forms and the specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts, mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.
  • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using the tools required to perform the task safely.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
  • Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations.
  • Collect and discard worn machine parts, and other refuse to maintain machinery and work areas.
  • Clean machines and machine parts, using Food Grade cleaners, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment as required.
  • Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage.
  • Replace, empty, or replenish machine and equipment containers such as gas tanks or boxes.
  • Replace or repair the metal, wood, leather, glass, or other linings in machines, or in equipment compartments or containers.
  • Assist the elevation team with bulk grains.
  • Develop equipment or component configurations.
  • Read technical information needed to perform maintenance or repairs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems.
  • Test fluids to identify contamination or other problems.
  • Assemble electrical components, subsystems, or systems.
  • Install electrical components, equipment, or systems.
  • Repair electrical circuits or wiring.
  • Align equipment or machinery.
  • Clean equipment, parts, or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order.
  • Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning.
  • Record information about parts, materials or repair procedures.
  • Operate welding equipment.
  • Remove snow.
  • Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
  • Operate moving or lifting equipment.
  • Lay out work according to specifications.
  • Plan work procedures.
  • Measure distances or dimensions.
  • Install energyefficient heating, ventilation, or air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
  • Assemble mechanical components or machine parts.
  • Clean work areas.
  • Fabricate parts or components.
  • Train others in operational procedures.
  • Repair structural components.
  • Assemble structural components.
  • Paint surfaces or equipment.
  • Grind parts to the required dimensions.

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
