Your role
The Project Lead is a leader in project and operational success.

In this role, you will contribute to the strategic growth of the company and building capacity for our team delivering projects in the Heavy Rail sector with our National Business Team.

You will provide senior project leadership to our clients, be entrusted with leading and mentoring project staff, and nurturing long-term, sustaining client relationships.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop strong client relationships and act as the client's single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client's strategic goals and aspirations.
  • Oversee and/or directly lead programs of work and large capital projects, varying in size, scope and complexity.
  • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded on all projects and the client's best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues.
  • Lead client and project meetings. Manage multiple stakeholders and communication streams.
  • Regularly report on project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports.
  • Provide senior oversight and technical leadership to the change management process, payment certificates and other contract or project related administrative documents.
  • Coach, mentor and advise junior staff who will be working with you on your programs or projects and within the Heavy Rail team.
  • Oversee the control of project related documents and deliver all work in accordance with our Quality Management System and procedures.
  • Take an active role in public speaking events whether it be project or business related.
  • Help support our client partnerships by representing Colliers Project Leaders at events or ceremonies.
  • Serve as the firm's Account Manager, building credibility and trust with key Heavy Rail clients through individual expertise and team performance.
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure Services/National Sector Lead
  • Heavy Rail to help identify opportunities, grow the business and develop strategies related to the Heavy Rail sector.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years' representing owners in the delivery of civil engineering or structural projects in the heavy rail sector
  • A university degree or college diploma in engineering (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • Professional industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., CET or other similar industry recognized designation is considered a strong asset
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate a team in a matrix environment, ensuring corporate strategic objectives are achieved or exceeded
  • Deep knowledge of various design and construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, contract law, and relevant legislation
  • Practical knowledge of procurement practices, bid preparation and contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills including a proven ability to write winning proposals and win competitive interviews
  • Strong organization skills and ability to work collaboratively with other internal and external stakeholders
  • Propensity for conflict resolution with respect to client, project, technical and interpersonal issues
  • The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook and demonstrate an energetic disposition
