    King EPCM is looking to fill two (2) full-time Senior Civil Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician positions. This position is for senior and experienced Engineering Technician or CAD Drafter to independently create civil engineering drawings, such as drainage grading plans, municipal servicing plans, similar diagrams. Under the direct guidance of the Municipal Services Manager, the CAD Technician is expected to independently complete projects related to their field of expertise.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare grading designs for site plans and subdivisions, including residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
    • Knowledge of CAD drawings requirements (AutoCAD and Civil3D).
    • Prepare storm, sanitary, water servicing and road designs, including supporting design calculations.
    • Prepare erosion and sediment control and construction staging designs.
    • Assist in developing project specifications and cost estimates.
    • Provide technical leadership to junior/intermediate staff on projects, including verifying and validating the work of other civil engineers and designers.
    • Working closely with engineers, designers, drafting and support staff.
    • Mentoring and coaching project teams including technical and field staff.
    • Leading and/or independently preparing Functional Servicing reports in support of potential land development projects.
    • Providing senior review and professional authentication of memos, reports, drawings and other engineering documents.
    • Conduct periodic field visits and inspections as required.
    • Other responsibilities related to Civil Engineering.

    Qualifications

    • Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.ENG
    • 5+ years of drafting & design experience working in 2D & 3D on municipal projects including roads, utilities, site plan and subdivisions.
    • Proficiency in analyzing, designing, and implementing water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewer systems, stormwater management, and grading and drainage designs.
    • Strong knowledge of Municipal and Land Development Engineering principles, design standards and Jurisdictional Design Guidelines (e.g. OPSS/OPSD, TAC, MTO, AODA).
    • Strong working knowledge of Word & Excel.
    • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment.
    • Must be physically fit to conduct field-visits, including in remote locations.
    • Must have valid G driver's license and personal vehicle, willing to travel to project site.
    • Must have Canadian experience.
