    District Overview


    Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor that work on projects that involve construction of oil & gas facilities such as oil sands processing, including steam–assisted gravity drainage facilities, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (ex. LNG, LPG, etc.), and major mine developments. We also have a Modular Yard facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Our engineering branch is a leading-edge division that offers innovative engineering services for our current projects and new pursuits in Canada. Our design services group are based in Calgary and Houston offering expertise in process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural disciplines.

    We have opportunities available on various project sites around the Edmonton and Strathcona area.

    Responsibilities


    1. Support a project work force planning program ensuring the project is staffed with the most qualified personnel.
    2. Provide expert guidance to management in the areas of performance management, employee relations and career development.
    3. Support on-boarding process to ensure consistent messaging across the project.
    4. Leverage HR dashboards, reports and data to drive business decisions and tactics.
    5. Support execution of employee performance programs and expectations to maximize workforce productivity.
    6. Monitor workforce engagement for trends that require action to ensure high employee morale and retention.
    7. Lead the development of HR related strategies and ensure implementation and execution.
    8. Serve as a change agent by influencing key stakeholders in support of organizational needs.
    9. Act as a liaison with HR Shared Services to ensure the delivery of support exceeds internal client needs.
    10. Utilize and implement various human resource information systems (HRIS) and provide support to employees and managers.
    11. Support labour relations meetings with the appropriate project unionized provider.
    12. Support the management of craft employee issues such as grievances, terminations and disciplinary actions.
    13. Ensure implementation of all LR programs, policies and procedures.
    14. Communicate and support any district related LR initiatives for craft employees.
    15. Have working knowledge of PLA's, union Collective Agreements and Pre-Jobs.
    16. Provide HR support to the District HRBP.

    Qualifications


    This position requires a HR/LR professional who can strike the balance between strategy and execution. 4 + years' experience in multiple human resources functions Labour Relations experience is strongly desired and ideally experience with CLAC. Management experience is recommended but not essential. Ability to influence individuals and groups. Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships. Sound business acumen and analytical skills. Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative. Strong work ethic, willing to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done right the first time. Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity. Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives. Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
