***: The Childcare and Youth Manager is responsible for overseeing the Club's Child Minding department (HollyVille) as well as the Youth Department. This role is responsible for providing exceptional care and creating new and exciting programs for our youth of all ages. This role administers policies affecting the enjoyment, safety, and security of members and guests by maintaining Club rules, Bylaws and general services. This role is expected to


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


  • Responsible for creating optimal environments for the children, schoolaged youth, teens and families at Hollyburn Country Club working alongside the Youth Coordinator and fellow staff
  • Planning, developing, facilitating and marketing of the programs & specials events for families, children and youth including afterschool programs, events, camps, special activities
  • Schedule Childcare staff, and work alongside Youth Coordinator in scheduling Youth Staff
  • Respond to inquiries regarding Childcare & Juniors programs and spaces, including HollyVille and The Hub.
  • Prepare annual budget for HollyVille and Youth departments
  • Maintain current knowledge of local youth recreation trends and activities; utilize this knowledge to develop new, innovative programs
  • Assisting contractors/staff with ordering supplies and materials for Childcare and Youth programs, and HollyVille
  • Measuring program success on a seasonal and annual basis
  • Liaising with facility bookings, food & beverage and program instructors
  • The supervision of Childcare & Youth staff including: hiring, training and evaluation
  • Organize quarterly Parent Insight Committee meetings
  • Direct onsite supervision and member engagement during special events hosted by the Club (Family Fun Nights, Hollygras, Mother Son Ball, Santa Brunch, Hub Nights, Mini Scholars Graduation, etc.)
  • Inputting seasonal programs onto GameTime for registration
  • Manage View magazine articles and info for Youth and HollyVille sections
  • Camps organize and implement camps for children during summer, spring break, winter break, and professional days.
  • Create and send out monthly newsletter for Mini Scholars program to participating families
  • Submit monthly member billing sheets and Contractor invoices to Accounting in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with department personnel including Plant Engineering/Housekeeping, Aquatics, Youth, Food and Beverage/Bistro, regarding sharing space, organizing and setting up programs and events, and menu submissions. Communicate with other departments within the club for various needs
  • Ensure all zones are clear, furniture is in order and safe to use, and that chemicals and cleaning supplies are stored correctly
  • Check hallway door locks, and always keep door locked (swipe card required)
  • Develop strategies for injury prevention
  • Attend monthly Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Committee meetings
  • You agree to get a Criminal Record Check with a vulnerable sector search at your local Police Department immediately upon being hired you will be reimbursed for this expense in full

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:


  • Minimum 5 years working with children/youth in an educational or recreation center environment
  • Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory or management role
  • First Aid and C.P.R training required
  • Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club
  • Must be a responsible, customercentric individual passionate about caring for and educating children/youth
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
