Workforce Supervisor to join our Colchester/Cumberland & Dartmouth Regions, Enhanced Care Division. As the role will support both regions, this successful applicant could be based out of Dartmouth or Truro.

About the Opportunity

  • Provides leadership and oversight for all operational elements of the Workforce Coordinator and Staffing Coordinator roles to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable legislation as well as adherence to brand standards.
  • Direct supervision of the region's Workforce Coordinators and Staffing and Scheduling Coordinators within the region including training new hires, coordinating vacation coverage and providing coverage as required.
  • Travel between sites within the regions on a weekly basis to provide in person support to your team
  • Provides training and ongoing technical support to direct reports and members of the site management team related to the workforce, staffing and scheduling functions.
  • Manages the administration of master schedules, vacancies and over hires for the region, collaborating with site management and applicable finance management when changes are required.
  • Works collaboratively with operations, recruitment, occupational health and human resources to proactively review staffing levels to ensure they meet operational requirements, established guidelines and fall within prescribed budgets.
  • Manages vacant schedule rotations for the region which includes coordinating with the applicable Abilities Specialist regarding leaves of absence and return to work programs.
  • Completes monthly invoicing validation for agency contracts in the region. Compares agency invoices against scheduled agency hours to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinates and participates in vacation sign ups and the creation and implementation of holiday schedules for the region.
  • Accountable for ensuring regular audits are completed for prescribed compliance processes such as wages, probationary periods, accrual validation, vacation levels and statutory holiday eligibility.
  • Gathers data for Attendance Awareness Program and maintains seniority lists.
  • Promotes a safety culture by taking every reasonable precaution in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees and all others in the workplace, including but not limited to, providing supervision, training, information, and equipment needed for employees to do their job safely.

About You

  • Relevant Post-Secondary education.
  • Minimum two years of experience in scheduling, payroll and/or human resources administration.
  • Previous supervisory experience and experience preparing work schedules considered an asset.
  • Experience working in unionized environments with ability to read and understand collective agreements preferred.
  • Experience administrating within complex Time & Attendance systems with multiple union agreements and terms and conditions of employment considered an asset.
  • Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable procedures considered an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in other languages considered an asset.
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
