Position Summary:


  • Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and selfdirected Administrative Assistant to support the Indigenous Health department.
  • The Administrative Assistant provides confidential administrative support to designated team members within the Indigenous Health portfolios across Northern Health. Acts as a first point of contact for the assigned area(s) and directs both internal and external customers to the appropriate staff to address their needs.
  • Starting salary will be approximately from $47,064 to $58,830 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 supplemented by successful completion of an administrative diploma.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressive administrative assistant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond to customer needs and resolve customer issues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a team environment.
  • Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Outlook, Internet, Word, Excel and Access.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with mínimal direction and work independently.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing priorities, demands and deadlines.
  • Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional telephone manner.
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to type 50 w.p.m.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
