Responsibilities & Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee team members performing vehicle inspections, preparing reports and when necessary, assist in carrying out these job responsibilities.
  • Effectively organizes and manages team members, including technicians, advisors, and other Service Team Members, to ensure key objectives and service goals are achieved.
  • Own creating an exceptional customer service experience by maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by delivering quality service, recommending additional products and services and by addressing any customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally.
  • Hiring, training, and managing employees.
  • Focus on customer retention by building quality relationships with customers and team members alike.
  • Work diligently to uphold OEM standards while protecting company and customer interests.
  • Set up and maintain service desk, including managing service desk members and evaluating desk efficiency.
  • Resolve service desk problems and improve current service desk operations to increase productivity thereby ensuring an amazing customer service experience.
  • Monitor department operations and customer concerns to define patterns and work to improve efficiency.
  • Regularly audit work being done and customer service being provided to ensure all standards are met and that repair work is carried out effectively, thoroughly, and correctly.
  • Control department forecasts, budgets, and related expenses.
  • Demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment.
  • 3 years of Service Management experience as an Automotive Service Manager or Assistant Manager with a proven track record in both service and customer satisfaction.
  • Completed a related postsecondary program or Trade School certificate and/or equivalent.
  • Technologically savvy with PCbased software, websites, and strong proficiency in automotive service management systems.
  • Experience with Reynolds and Reynolds, CDK/ADP, PBS including dispatch considered an asset.
  • A provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic certificate is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered.
  • Possess sound automotive technical background with a strong knowledge of technical/mechanical repairs, product, and automotive parts.
  • Ability to train, coach, direct and encourage technicians, advisors, and shop foreman.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving history
