Key Responsibilities:
- Forklift operation; pulling product from manufacturing lines and placing in yard
- May work with customers (truck drivers) to ensure all product ordered is safely loaded onto truck, may be required to answer general questions about product
- Ensure that all personal entering the yard is complaint with safety rules and standards (e.g. all truck drivers must be wearing P.P.E and use corner boards, etc.)
- Act as the last line of defense in the quality control process by ensuring product meets quality standards
- May inspect transfers of product (coming into the yard) for damage caused during the transportation process and report to supervisor
- During the seasonal slowdown will be required to support other departments including production, sales/marketing, and general plant/office maintenance on a variety of projects (e.g. building display boards, covering the production line for breaks, building shelves, etc.)
- Responsible for preparing picks (special orders for customers)
- Receive and distribute deliveries within the site
- On a daily basis work collaboratively with Customer Service department on orders
- Maintain housekeeping in yard and various buildings on property
- Participate in company inventory process and control (e.g. cycle counts, seasonal count, raw material count, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Abilities:
- Must be comfortable with walking, climbing, standing and lifting (physically strenuous); must be able to lift up 50 pounds without assistance
- Must be comfortable working in a variety of climates (mostly outdoors in hot and cold temperatures); dusty & noisy
- Willingness to complete a variety of work assignments
- Must be a champion of safety practices and adhere to all safety protocols and workplace policies
- Must be friendly, outgoing, energetic, wellspoken and comfortable working with a variety of people (internally and externally)
- Must be able to memorize lot layout and product information very quickly
Requirements:
- Must have prior 1 to 2 years of experience operating allterrain forklifts
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience loading trucks (e.g. btrains) is considered an asset
- Available to work extended shifts when required (overtime)
- Must have reliable transportation as public transportation is
