The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is heading into its 101st year, and is the largest indoor agricultural show of its kind.
From November 3-12, exhibitors bring their best (be it animal or product) to compete for the title of Royal Champion.
You can take part in the excitement by joining the Agriculture team as an Agriculture Coordinator. We will be hiring 1-2 individuals for a 12-18 week contract starting in August.Under the general supervision of the, Agriculture and Education Department, the Agriculture Coordinator will
Number of Positions Available: 1-2
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the coordination of assigned agriculture competitions
- Secure competition needs: judges, supplies, volunteers
- Ensure all supporting details are properly communicated
- Ongoing priorities
- Work closely with the Corporate Development team to ensure sponsorship deliverables are completed and tracked appropriately
- Respond to general inquiries and information requests as required.
- Maintain a professional attitude & appearance
- Support development of monthly Agriculture Newsletters via MailChimp.
- Draft and distribute competition marketing material prefair & postfair; work in concert with Marketing Department to create and distribute.

- Results Announcements & Champion Profiles
- Digital Rosettes for Exhibitors
- Act as recording Secretary during committee meetings when able.
- Responsible for communications and tracking between partnering fairs for Beef Supreme regional qualifiers.
- Assist with the coordination of the Beef Supreme run of show and execution.
- Update ROE Livestream broadcast script (run of show), including proper names and logos.
- Assist with production of the National Holstein Show in the Coliseum.
- Assist with Signage Design and execution
- Assist with updating superintendent, staff, judge, and sponsor contract templates to the relevant calendar year.
- Support updating and management of work orders and internal documents
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Event Management, Project Management, Cultural Planning, or a related field.
- Minimum two years experience in agriculture, special event production, project management, community development, highprofile venue bookings experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Highly motivated selfstarter with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Must have exceptional energy and followthrough required to deliver major features leading up to and during the Fair.
- Ability to build positive and supportive working relationships with management, staff, suppliers, event partners, sponsors, and volunteers.
- A track record of achieving/exceeding organizational goals and objectives; operationally and financially.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as a part of a dynamic team.
- Experience working with unionized environment an asset.
- Experience in Fair / Expo management an asset.
- Experience with Assist Expo an asset.
- Experience in agriculture an asset.
- Experience with MailChimp and Surveymonkey an asset.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required
Job Type:
Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12-18 weeks
Salary:
$50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
