Your opportunity:


Reporting to the Assistant Director, Career Exploration & Education, and working collaboratively with career services colleagues, plans and executes events aimed at serving the employment and career exploration needs of students and recent graduates on the St.

George campus.

The Coordinator will perform a wide and dynamic range of duties, including delivering and promoting high-quality, large-scale professional events such as in-person and online conferences, fairs, networking, recruitment information sessions; developing and implementing communications plans that support strategic objectives; producing promotional and outreach materials;conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities; coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars; determining logístical details and activities for events and/or programming; resolving issues that may occur during events and escalating problems as required; conducting post-event evaluation, analysis and recommendations for changes; coordinating the preparation and distribution of promotional/outreach materials; tracking registration; maintaining information on digital platforms and websites; and generating reports.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
  • Coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars
  • Determining logístical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Organizing materials for workshops, conferences and/or events
  • Determining changes to an event based on unusual and/or unexpected circumstances
  • Conducting postevent evaluation, analysis and recommendations for changes
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of promotional/outreach materials
  • Documenting and maintaining standard operating procedures

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three years experience in event planning within a career educational or recruitment setting.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and organizing numerous multiday events within tight and conflicting time frames.
  • Experience tracking expenses against a budget.
  • Previous survey experience, survey analysis and report preparation required.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access as well as extensive experience with databases and communication software.
  • Superior organizational and project management skills; strong writing skills; excellent analytical skills and report preparation.
  • Ability to lead work teams and collaborate with colleagues to achieve event outcomes.
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data; attention to detail.
