Your Opportunity:


As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life.

Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities.

You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Diploma from a disability, health-related, or social sciences field (commensurate combinations of education and work experience equivalencies will be considered).

Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English. 2-4 years of community experience with targeted population is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid (FA) Certification is required prior to/upon commencement.


Preferred Qualifications:

A degree in a disability, health related, or social sciences field (equivalencies will be considered). Training in non-violent crisis intervention and psychosocial rehabilitation is desirable. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and a co-occurring mental illness and/or behavioral concerns is an asset. Experience working night shift in a community group home is preferred.
