About you


You are someone with a master's or doctorate degree from a recognized university in one of the following areas: nutrition, public health, international development and/or a related field.

You have 5-10 years of work experience with NGOs, academic, UN agencies or similar working on adolescent nutrition, adolescent health, public health, reproductive health, or related policy or programs with at least 5 years of experience working in low
- and middle-income countries.


You are familiar with policy and guideline development and implementation and are able to work as part of a multi-cultural global team.

You have commitment to integrating gender equality into public health and/or development programs and superior communications skills (oral and written), including good technical writing and presentation skills in English.

You have the ability to write clearly for distinct and diverse audiences.

Fluency in English is required. French will be considered an asset.


About the role

  • Lead technical review and contribute to the development of the countryspecific detailed project implementation plans and annual workplans that clearly define the strategies, activities and resources required for effective implementation of the project.
  • Generate new ideas, initiatives and strategies based on innovations and good practices to better meet project objectives and encourage staff and project stakeholders to do the same.
  • Advise on how project initiatives related to adolescent nutrition and anemia action plans can be guided by global bestpractice approaches to be implemented to achieve NI's deliverables.
  • Develop terms of references for technical work or partners and processes for adolescent nutrition components and for processes for anemia action plan work.
  • Provide technical review of partner and consultant work to support project objectives.
  • Provide management of data gap mapping and action plan processes and stakeholder inputs for anemia action plan development and iterative costing.
  • Prepare technical briefing notes and evidencebased summaries to support project partners.
  • Identify opportunities to increase adolescent responsiveness and gender responsiveness of work leasing with NI gender advisors.
  • Identify technical needs and coordinate technical inputs from NI experts in anemia, adolescent nutrition, child nutrition, maternal nutrition and health economics and other relevant areas.
  • Identify and support documentation and dissemination of key learnings with local, regional, and global relevance emerging from project.
  • Participate in review of the project monitoring plans and data review with teams to provide technical guidance in course correction and design as needed.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key project stakeholders and implementing partners to ensure that the provision of TA facilitates government leadership and ownership.
