What you'll be doing
:


The Daily Shift Manager will supervise our fleet maintenance services team that supports BC Transit's operations and lead transit-oriented development on behalf of BC Transit.

You will be responsible for supervising our skilled trades who are responsible for all of the repair and maintenance activities of our fleet of buses as well as facilities within the Victoria Regional Transit System (VRTS).


What would make you an asset?


You are a proven team player with excellent conflict resolution skills who has demonstrated experience managing a team within a fast-paced environment.

You will be comfortable with day-to-day decision making on behalf of the maintenance team as well as supporting the organization of all repairs within our fleet of buses.

You are a Certified Tradesman or have education as a Maintenance Technician/Technologist with a keen understanding of maintenance/mechanical practices.

What you'll bring to the table
:

We love lifelong Learners and recommend the following mix of education or certifications to be successful in conjunction with relevant experience:

  • Thorough and advanced understanding of CVSE and NSC regulations and requirements
  • General understanding of facilities infrastructure and tooling
  • Working knowledge of Collective Agreements with experience supervising or managing a unionized workforce
  • Computer literate with specific knowledge of MS Office suite preferred (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience with JDE considered an asset
  • A proven team player who is able to work well in a multitasking, fastpaced, environment
