    Resort General Manager - National Capital Region, ON

    Seeking a Resort General Manager for a recreational property, with camping, RVs and cottages in the breathtaking landscape of the Ottawa Valley. They provide memorable experiences in hospitality, leisure, and adventure, catering to guests seeking relaxation and recreation. With both seasonal owners and rental guests in cottages or RVs, their commitment to excellence in service and guest satisfaction sets them apart. They are seeking an experienced and dedicated Resort General Manager to lead the team in delivering exceptional guest experiences and managing all aspects of resort operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and sales skills with a passion for hospitality, and a proven track record of successfully managing resort properties.

    DESCRIPTION

    • Resort Management: Oversee all aspects of resort operations, including accommodations, food and beverage services, recreational facilities, and guest activities.
    • Project Management: Lead and coordinate projects to enhance resort facilities, services, and guest experiences, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Manage People: Lead and motivate a diverse team of department managers and staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
    • Revenue Management: Develop and implement strategies to maximize resort revenue and profitability, including pricing strategies, upselling opportunities, and revenue optimization initiatives.
    • Resort Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including health and safety guidelines, licensing requirements, and environmental regulations.
    • Guest Experience: Cultivate relationships with guests and stakeholders, addressing their needs and concerns to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Marketing: Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the resort and attract new guests, including digital marketing campaigns, advertising initiatives, and promotional events.
    • Promotion: Plan and execute promotional activities and special events to drive occupancy and revenue, collaborating with the marketing team and external partners as needed.
    • Financial Management: Manage budgets and financial performance, monitoring expenses and revenue streams to maximize profitability and achieve financial targets.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in resort management in RV/Cottage-style resorts or a similar role, with a proven track record of success.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve common goals.
    • Excellent sales, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders at all levels.
    • Solid understanding of financial management principles, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
