Basic Purpose of Position:

Develops and revises all inflight training programs (regulatory and service). The Inflight Training Development Specialist will release all new and revised programs to Inflight Trainers. The Inflight Specialist will also support trainers will program-related issues and questions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop & revise regulatory training programs according to the Flight Attendant Training Standard.
  • Develop/revise service training programs.
  • Develop online portions of regulatory & service programs as required for the program.
  • Conduct needs assessment with customer to determine training needs.
  • Liaise with Inflight Regulatory and Standards for regulatory requirements.
  • Complete matrix for all regulatory programs.
  • Complete or coordinate completion, of Quality Assurance (QA) checks of new/revised programs with applicable departments.
  • Incorporate changes required as identified during the QA review.
  • Incorporate changes required as identified during Transport Canada review of regulatory programs.
  • Produce Training Inserts for applicable program as required.
  • Complete QA process of training inserts and incorporate required changes as identified during the QA & Transport Canada approval process.
  • Coordinate distribution of programs/ revisions/ training inserts.
  • Request support/ proofreading from Inflight Training Leads/ Trainers.
  • Prepare and facilitate rollouts of new/revised programs as required.
  • Advise Inflight Training Base Lead of any equipment/supply issues or discrepancies.
  • Provide checklist of Go Box requirements prior to launch of new/revised training programs.
  • Assist with facilitation of any inflight training program as required.
  • Assist with ensuring part time trainers have access to all required materials in the absence of inflight training lead.
  • Required to obtain and maintain Flight Attendant qualifications.
  • Provide support in the absence of inflight training lead.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of coworkers and customers

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Diploma in Adult Education is an asset. (Must be willing to complete this within 24 months of being hired).
  • Current or former Flight attendant experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) required.
  • Superior written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work and handle tight deadlines and multitask.
  • Demonstrated judgement and problem solving skills as well as effective decision making skills.
  • Solid knowledge of flight attendant training standards is required.
  • Experience in program development is required.
  • Experience in development of online training an asset.
  • Previous classroom training experience is required.
  • May need to be available for work outside of the regular day time hours as required.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
