Job Summary

The Trades Worker II (Electrician) is a journeyperson level position that performs skilled electrical work including installing, replacing or repairing electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components in accordance with Canadian and electrical codes.

This also includes performing preventative maintenance on various equipment and machines and liaising and communicating with contractors and performing other related duties as required.


Job Demands
Constantly lifts, carries or moves objects up to 11 lbs., regularly between lbs. and occasionally over 44 lbs.


Regularly requires physical effort using tools that require accurate control and steadiness; maintaining physical balance, standing, walking, climbing, using gross and fine motor skills, and working in awkward or cramped positions requiring strength and/or endurance.


Work is impacted by time pressures/deadlines, interruptions and lack of control over work pace as priorities change, services being interrupted, etc.


Job Qualifications
Graduation from High School or equivalent.

Successful completion of a Journeyperson's Electrical Certificate.

A minimum of three years of experience as an electrician is required.

Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.

A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
