Duties and Responsibilities:


Qualifications:


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Understand the accounting principles used in the posting and reconciliation of transactions to the general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret activity on Student Account from a variety of sources as well as to reconcile clearing accounts.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivables and collection routines are required to secure payments. Articulate and possess good interpersonal skills due to the high level of customer contact, much of which may have been escalated from the front line staff.
  • Provides direction and support to the front line staff and must be aware of the roles of other student support offices as well as any relevant policies.
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows and the suite of Microsoft Office products is required.

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

  • Completion of a University degree/College diploma with an emphasis on Business or Accounting plus 3-4 years enrollment in a CPA program.
  • Five years of experience in an accounting/bookkeeping environment, with an emphasis on accounts receivable, including some supervisory experience.
