Summary
Under the supervision of the APC Supervisor, the position performs a variety of operation functions. These duties include manufacturing/machining of high temperature rollers, endless belting and fabrication/construction.


Qualifications

  • Completion of High School.
  • Completion of postsecondary education in machining, is an asset.
  • Hands on experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
  • Proficient in math.
  • Proficient in computers, and working within ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety protocols when operating lathes and milling machinery.

Skills & Responsibilities

  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with employees and supervisors as part of a team.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills in order to resolve conflicts and problems.
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
  • Setting up and operating all of the equipment in the maintenance/fabrication shop.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings for parts production.
  • Checking quality and accuracy of parts manufactured using measurement devices (micrometer, caliper, etc.).
  • Minor maintenance to machinery when required.
  • Fit and assemble machined parts into complete units.
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
  • Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor.
  • Responsible for tracking and coordinating inventory for the fabricating department.

Salary:
From $24.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay
