Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview:


Under the general supervision of the Director of Health Services, the incumbent is responsible for organizing, controlling and managing the Patient Equipment and Transport Depot including the efficient utilization and management of equipment and human and financial resources.


Provides leadership through the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of systems and processes to achieve an efficient in-house Patient Transportation Service as well as the supply and distribution of centrally managed patient related equipment.


Develops, implements and monitors goals and objectives and participates in continuous quality assurance in an effort to manage risks related to patient transport and centrally managed patient related equipment.


Ensures that the services provided by the Patient Equipment and Transport Depot are of the highest standards and to promote optimum patient care during transportation in a therapeutic, safe environment.


Experience:


  • Minimum three years current, relevant experience in an acute health care setting and minimum oneyear leadership experience in a health care setting required.
  • Working knowledge of hospital patient care systems, procedures, and supports required to facilitate safe and timely patient care is essential.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • A Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant health care profession or Business Administration is required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:


  • Current registration or eligibility for registration, with the appropriate professional association required

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Formal management training preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel). Other related software or computer based utilization software experience would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement service changes and/or enhancements (project management) required.
  • A demonstrated responsiveness to customer needs is essential.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to actively promote, develop and foster productivity, effective customer service and solid working relationships in a selfdirected worker/teamwork environment.
