Key accountabilities:


Develop and maintain working relationships with HR business partners and hiring managers within the business areas to provide assistance with recruiting needs and job vacancy specifications

Support hiring managers through the selection process while providing coaching on policies and best practices as needed

Conduct reference checks and coordinate background checks as required

Demonstrate and reinforce LAO's commitment to providing fair and equitable recruitment and selection practices

Embed diversity conversations in all recruitment and sourcing activities

Attend career fair events (in-person and /or virtually) across the province and represent the organization on occasion

Assist with other HR /recruitment related projects, tasks and duties as required


Required skills & experience:


Experience recruiting in a unionized environment.

Proficiency working with an HRIS and applicant tracking system

Ability to prioritize effectively, manage a full work load and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.

Ability to communicate and educate hiring managers at all levels of the organization

Self-directed and solution-oriented with a high sense of urgency to deliver results and meet business deadlines

Preferred Experience
Post-secondary diploma in human resources, business, or related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education

Experience recruiting within the public sector is an asset.

Experience recruiting within the legal sector

Experience working with equity-seeking groups and championing diversity in the workplace

Working knowledge of provincial employment laws, human rights and privacy legislation, behavioral-based interviewing, and human resources best practices

French language skills is an asset
