- Summer employment (May-August) with possibility of extension or
continued employment. - Working in the field under the supervision of environmental technicians
and specialists. - Supporting field programs related to soil sampling, air quality
monitoring, groundwater monitoring, environmental monitoring, wildlife
monitoring, fish and fish habitat assessments, etc. - Supporting project reporting, including researching, data management,
and report writing. - Supporting the coordination of field logistics and equipment management.
- Following health and safety procedures and collaborating in improving
safety in the field. - Completing required training programs for fieldwork (first aid, mine
safety, helicopter safety). - Flexible working hours, overtime and weekend work is possible but not
required. - No previous education or professional experience
required. - Must have an eagerness to learn skills related to
environmental monitoring and sampling. - Previous experience or education within the environmental sciences considered
an asset. - Strong commitment to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions for
potentially long periods at a time. - Willingness to travel and work in potentially remote locations.
- Experience working in mining, contaminated sites, or remote sites is an
asset. - Familiarity
with Yellowknives Dene language, culture, and way of life would be considered
assets.
