Job Summary:


This role will support Halton Region's Digital Strategic Action Plan, to modernize access to services by expanding our digital service offerings and enhancing the customer experience.

Reporting to the Manger of Digital Workplace and Technology, this role will bring new ideas and innovation to projects, work closely with stakeholders to design and implement a digital-first approach to service delivery that is well-coordinated and supports all channels including critical on-prem and cloud infrastructure, telephony, data networks and security.

This role will collaborate with a variety of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to manage the successful delivery of multiple projects; on time, on budget, and within scope.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Manage the successful delivery of projects on time, to budget, and within quality and scope to realize the goals of the Digital Strategy.
  • Develop detailed project management documentation such as Project Charters, Project Management Plans (including subsidiary plans), Integrated Project Plans, Process Flows, Use Case Diagrams, and Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Document, report and escalate variances to plan and suggests a course of action as required, including working with the team to identify, anticipate and manage project issues and risks, escalating risk/issues that are unresolved to management.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the organization and project team members to uncover pain points and lesson learned opportunities to accelerate the delivery of new valueadded solutions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of contract management and administration with vendors and contractors including negotiation terms and conditions, contract creation, execution, and effective management and control throughout the project term.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:


Essential

  • Degree or diploma from a recognized University or College in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of project management experience.
  • Possess, or be working towards, a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
  • Familiar with IT Infrastructure, Azure Cloud and Office 365 requirements, design, build/develop, QA, UAT, Release/Production.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with scheduling and project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or other project management tools.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects, prioritize multiple conflicting priorities, and demonstrated the ability to respond to frequently changing priorities.
  • Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members as a leader and member of the project team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to present and facilitate projects and concepts to high standards with comfort in front of SMEs, senior management, and project management teams.
