Looking for an opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team A construction company here in Ottawa that has been in business for over 30 years, serving primarily the government, commercial and industrial markets is looking to expand their team.

We are looking for motivated individuals that have an eagerness to learn and love a challenge We are looking to fill the following position.

• Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces to assist in material processing, fitting., welding and/or building of structures
• Holds tape and rods and marks reference points to assist in layouts
• Loads., stacks and transports stock, tools. Dies, and work in process by hand or lift truck
• Attaches rope or grappling equipment to work pieces to prepare work piece for moving crane or jib or using a zipper lift.
• Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding painting, steel processing and/or shipping.
• Removes scrap from work area.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment.
• Performs other routine duties as directed by supervisor.
• Read, understand and comply with company policies and procedures.

A high school education, and/or a college degree; 2 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to read construction related documentation
• Ability to complete basic math
• Ability to solve problems
• Ability to identify health and safety concerns on a work site
• Must have a cell phone with data
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance
• Must have a valid Ontario Class "G" license and reliable transportation
• Must be able to travel to various sites
• Must be able to perform all duties
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to perform all duties required as general labourer
