Description

• The estimator is responsible for determining the total cost of a Telecom related construction project including validating the project's Scope of Work and determining costs for Materials, Labor, Permitting, Subcontractors etc._

• Coordinate with Sales and operations to prioritize opportunities and review workload
• Maintain a quote log detailing opportunities and value.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and major sources of telecommunications infrastructure project work.
• Prepare estimation for material and labour for cabling projects
• Interface with the client or general contractor resolving questions or issues with the bid.
• Once a project has won, start the process by submitting the detailed material list to suppliers for ordering.
• Lead kick-off meeting for closed work detailing scope and methodology.
• Responsible for pricing change orders
• Follow up on all submitted bids
• Research new products and services that may be offered by Helix ensuring we stay current forfuture growth of the company
• Assist in evaluating the possibilities of a new product line
• Attend weekly sales and operation meetings
• Maintain safe working conditions by ensuring that all associates and contractors follow the Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge and experience with DB style estimation platforms is essential
• MS office suite
• Detail orientated
• Able to work with little supervision
• Field experience in telecom construction is an asset
• Work as a member of a small team to manage workload and meet tight deadlines
• Read and interpret construction drawings

• Walking, standing, bending, crouching or stooping.
• Sitting for long periods.
• Evening, weekend and holiday hours may be required.
• Works mostly indoor but occasional trips to construction site would be required

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
