Description

This position will be responsible for the overall administrative support functions and local purchasing requests for the bills of materials ("BOM") at Bunge's Edmonton Packaging Facility.

This role will require routine presence on the production floor and interaction with operators and plant leadership.


Core Functions:

  • Create and send purchase orders within SAP
  • Communicate with vendors for order confirmations, shipping dates, package details, and readytoship dates
  • Arrange for shipping from vendors and fulfill the orders
  • Plan and perform physical inventory observations that support production planning and scheduling (ingredients, packaging, production supplies)
  • Coordinate transportation planning
  • Screen potential suppliers through basic Request for Information/Proposal process
  • Responsible for ensuring the facility has appropriate inventory levels of the bills of materials for production.
  • Review effectiveness of packaging material on production lines, communicate with operators on packaging deficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Enter supplier complaints into Trace Gains
  • Identify, track, and report locally generated savings
  • Enter supplier complaints and corrective actions into Trace Gains
  • Review finished product inventory and determine production schedule requirements
  • Work closely with production scheduler to verify availability of products to limit shortages
  • Responsible for post goods issue and purchase receipts
  • Other duties deemed necessary by Supervisor/Manager

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in business or technical discipline or minimum 2 years' experience in relevant field.
  • Minimum of two years relevant purchasing experience preferred
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborative environment
  • Selfstarter with strong time management skills
  • Strong working knowledge of and proficiency in SAP, Excel, Outlook, and Word as well as basic computer functions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and analytical skills are essential
