Scope:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst is responsible for the organization's consolidated financial reporting and providing corporate offices, senior management and departments with key financial indicators and statistical reports.
Please note:
This is a Hybrid position located at the Head Office in Ottawa, ON.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthend reports, account analyses and account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ensures the production and submission of monthend and yearend consolidated financial reports for internal and external users and in compliance with contractual requirements.
- Participates in other monthend closing functions as needed, included but not limited to: Project Accounting, Receivables, Payables, etc.
- Coordinates and supports the annual external.
- Assists in preparation and submission of corporate tax schedules (HST) and various government regulatory reporting.
- Works with the Finance Manager, Controller and Senior Management team in the development and updating of budgets, forecasts, business plans, financial analyses and perform budget vs actual analysis.
- Contributes to the development of longterm plans for the department and participates in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers.
- Performs other accounting and finance related duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce and/or related field is preferred.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and various government regulatory reporting
- Strong technical and computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills, particularly emotional intelligence, leadership skills, team player and interpersonal relations.
