ACCOUNTING MANAGER, NORTH AMERICAN BUSINESS ASSURANCE
Reporting to the Director, North American Business Assurance, the
Accounting Manager, Business Assurance is a key member of regional Finance team, leading the day-to-day operations of the accounting team and ensuring a high degree of quality, timeliness, and accuracy for the North American P&L.
This is a fast-paced environment with oversight of team members in Canada and the US, and it is essential the Accounting Manager have excellent time management and organizational skills.
We are looking for a true professional; someone that has demonstrated the ability to build and manage effective teams and can communicate financial impacts clearly and concisely to a variety of business partners.
How you'll make an impact in this role:
- Lead the daily operations of the North American Business Assurance (NAM BA) Accounting team
- Responsible for developing, analyzing and interpreting accounting and financial information to evaluate operating results and track performance against budgets and forecasts
- Manage the monthly financial close, adhering to proper revenue and cost recognition policies and procedures
- Lead the strategic aspects of budget and forecast processes, coordinating the preparation of analysis files and reporting decks
- Perform strategic and financial analysis to inform/validate major decisions for the business, including performance and investment allocation, cost structure, margin targets, productivity, and headcount growth
- Complete drilldown analyses on issues as they arise, working with cross functional, shared service, and regional / global partners to develop solutions and mitigate risk
- Oversee the billing of audit activities, supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable cycles
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for senior leaders with a high degree of accuracy
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related major
- CPA, CMA preferred
- 6+ years of professional experience, including leading high performing teams
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with superior attention to detail; Advanced MS Excel/PowerPoint skills and ability to impose structure and logic
- Great interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaboration with various business partners
- Confidence to embrace new ways of doing things more effectively and more efficiently, with a problemsolving mentality to drive continuous process improvement
- Experience providing financial support to a multilocation business
- Excellent planning, time management, organization, and facilitation skills
- Prior experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Financials an asset
- This role may require up to 15% travel (mostly to US)
Location:
Mississauga, Ontario (Argentia)
Salary Range:
Competitive (based on experience) plus bonus 10%
